Manchester United seem to have received some very good transfer news, as Kieran Trippier has informed his England team-mates that he is interested in a summer move to Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Atletico Madrid right-back has been identified as a summer target for Manchester United in order to create competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He is expected to cost between £15 and £20 million.
Additionally, the Mirror reports that Trippier expressed his desire to join the Red Devils during pre-Euro 2020 talks with his England teammates.
All of this bodes well for United, who could likely profit from bringing in a player of Trippier’s caliber and experience in time for next season.
The 30-year-old had a successful career at Tottenham before joining Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019. Since then, he has continued to demonstrate his ability.
Trippier was a key member of Atletico Madrid’s La Liga title-winning squad last season, and his aggressive approach should fit in well with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Manchester United are reportedly interested in Kieran Trippier.
Although Wan-Bissaka is a good defender, his offensive ability from right full-back has sometimes been missing, and Trippier would provide a valuable option for the team at this crucial position.
Attacking full-backs have been a vital aspect of the game in recent years, with Luke Shaw excelling in that role for United last season, while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, and Kyle Walker have all been key players for United’s opponents.
