Spurs reportedly want Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo

Tottenham Hotspur remain without a manager after the withdrawal of Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso from consideration in the past two days.

Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici will be keen to get his first job at N17 right, and a fresh name has been mentioned as a candidate for the position.

According to football.london, Paratici is a fan of Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Portuguese has a plethora of admirers and was in negotiations to replace Roy Hodgson with Crystal Palace, but the deal fell through.

Dominic King of the Daily Mail recently claimed that he was on the verge of being named Everton’s next manager, but Rafa Benitez is in pole position to take the job.

Prior to the arrival of Paratici, Spurs allegedly passed on Nuno because he did not match the brief they were seeking for.

That may all change, though, if the Tottenham manager persuades chairman Daniel Levy to pursue him.

Nuno lead Wolves to Premier League promotion and back-to-back seventh-place finishes in the top level in his first season at Molineux.

He has the expertise and skills necessary to lead Spurs back into the top four, although Everton have not made a final managerial appointment and may still be interested in hiring him.

Paratici must act fast if he wants to retain the Portuguese, and the Toffees cannot afford to wait for long.
