Are you prepared for an injection of football nostalgia straight into your eyeballs?

Are you? That’s fortunate, since on Tuesday night in Tel Aviv, Real Madrid legends defeated Barcelona legends 3-2 in front of a raucous crowd.

We understand your concern. Yes, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo were both participating, and both wore the number 10. Additionally, Deco, Javier Saviola, and Gaizka Mendieta were included.

On the opposite side of the Clasico divide, fellow Brazilian Roberto Carlos, captain Luis Figo, and, most excitingly, Bolton great Ivan Campo all wore white shirts.

During the early exchanges, one player stood out above the others…

Naturally, Ronaldinho.

By using a variety of his favorite moves and setting up Rivaldo for a few excellent opportunities, he may have even earned himself a contract before to the season’s start. Leicester City are said to be on the lookout for a replacement number 10 if James Maddison leaves for Arsenal.

Ronnie eventually got the goal his effort merited, slotting away a first-half penalty to give Barcelona a 1-0 lead.

He’d also rewind the clock with this magnificent run and drive into the woodwork.

Soon after the half, Pedro Munitis put Real ahead with a rapid fire double salvo. Do not be ashamed if you haven’t heard of Munitis. Between 2000 and 2003, the striker made only 53 La Liga games, scoring twice. This effectively doubled his Los Blancos total in a single night. Not terrible at all.

Soon thereafter, Jofre Mateu made Campo seem ridiculous by scoring Barcelona’s equaliser.

Their opponents, though, would get the last laugh, with Ruben de la Red scoring the game-winning goal. He then curved the ball into the far corner, sending the Real supporters in attendance home delighted.
