Milan resist Bayern, Leipzig’s interest in signing Nkunku from Chelsea

In a surprising move, Christopher Nkunku has bid farewell to Chelsea and signed a five-year deal with AC Milan in Serie A. The deal is rumored to be worth up to €42m (£36.2m), with an additional sell-on clause included.

Milan, managed by Massimiliano Allegeri, had been considering various options for their attacking line, including Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen and Conrad Harder from Sporting CP. However, Nkunku emerged as their top choice and was officially announced as a Milan player just a day after their first Serie A win of the season against Lecce.

The French international struggled to make a significant impact during his time at Stamford Bridge, scoring only 18 goals in 62 appearances since his arrival from RB Leipzig in 2023. Despite featuring in Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph, he found himself left out of the squad for the first two Premier League matches under Enzo Maresca.

Nkunku’s move to Milan makes him the eighth signing for the club in this transfer window, joining the likes of Luka Modric, Samuele Ricci, and others. Meanwhile, there are rumors of Nicolas Jackson heading to Bayern Munich on loan before the transfer deadline on Monday.

Stay tuned for more updates on the latest transfer news and rumors in the world of soccer. #WelcomeNkunku
