Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has admitted that the club could lose several of their star players this summer. Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, and Marc Guehi have all been linked with moves to bigger clubs.
Glasner stated, “What we can do is show that Crystal Palace is the right place for every single player. It’s important that the level Crystal Palace are playing fits the level that the players are playing at – in both directions. If a player is too good for Crystal Palace, there is a high possibility that he will change clubs. The same goes the other way, if the quality of Crystal Palace is too high for a player.”
Regarding the three players, Glasner said, “All we can do is show our ambition and demonstrate that they are very important players for us. We need to show them from a sports perspective that we are competitive with many teams in the Premier League, that we want to improve, and that they play key roles in our system.”
However, Glasner also acknowledged that there are no guarantees in the transfer window. He said, “The transfer window, when it opens, can be crazy for several weeks. We are part of it and can’t stop it, but we will do our job – showing them our vision, how we want to play, and what their role can be. We will see what happens.”
In conclusion, Crystal Palace faces the challenge of holding onto their star players this summer. Glasner and his team are determined to convince them of the club’s ambition and importance, but they are aware of the unpredictable nature of the transfer window.
