Former Chelsea player Lamisha Musonda, who retired in 2020, has stunned the football world with a heartbreaking social media post revealing that he is battling a serious illness. While he did not disclose the specific disease, Musonda’s message was chilling as he confessed that there is no cure and he only has a few days left to live.
“Realising that I only have a few days left, I also realise that I had a lot of people by my side and I will always cherish the memories. Life is tough, but it is magnificent. Life is full of ups and downs, and no one can really comprehend the pain that one feels. The last two years have been particularly difficult and challenging for me. It is with great sadness that I announce that I am struggling to regain my health,” Musonda shared on Instagram.
The former footballer, who played for Llagostera and Palamos in Spain before retiring, had also stints at Anderlecht and Chelsea. His brother Charly also had spells at Chelsea and in LaLiga with Real Betis and Levante.
“This is the reason why I have been absent from social media. I must face reality: my health is critical and I am now fighting to survive. Your help and prayers will be of great help at this time. My family and I are struggling, and I will not give up until my last breath. I was fortunate to have a beautiful childhood and still have much to offer. But there are so many wonderful people I would have loved to thank in person, and the fact that I may not have the opportunity saddens me deeply,” Musonda added in his statement.
The football community is rallying behind Musonda during this difficult time as he bravely battles his illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as they navigate through this challenging period.
