Bologna’s coach, Vincenzo Italiano, admitted that his team couldn’t match Napoli’s level in the Supercoppa Italiana final. The Coppa Italia champions were defeated 2-0 by the Scudetto winners, with David Neres scoring both goals.
Despite their efforts, Bologna suffered their first-ever defeat in a single-match final. Italiano praised Napoli’s performance, especially Neres, who had a standout game.
“We tried our best against a team that performed exceptionally well,” Italiano told Sport Mediaset. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t elevate our game to their level. It’s disappointing, but these experiences help a team grow.”
Italiano defended goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia, whose mistake led to Napoli’s second goal. “Ravaglia has been solid for us, and everyone makes mistakes. He is committed to the club and will learn from this experience.”
Bologna will use this defeat as motivation to improve in the future. Despite the loss, Italiano has no regrets as his players gave their all on the pitch.
