Tottenham skipper Heung-min Son has called on everyone associated with the club to throw their support behind manager Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian tactician was left fuming with the entire club’s response to their recent Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Rather than aiming for victory and pushing for a top-four finish, some Spurs fans, players, and coaches seemed more interested in losing to prevent Arsenal from clinching the Premier League title.
“We need to realize that it’s the gaffer’s first year, and he has brought a lot of positivity and a fresh style of football,” Son told The Standard.
“It might be too early to say, but we need to step up our game for next season because I genuinely believe he can bring great success to the club.
“I am fully committed. I am loving the way he wants us to play. It’s a completely new experience for me.
“Everyone – the club, the players, and the fans – we all need to raise our game because we need to be united in this. He has already proven that he can deliver success to the club.”
The plea from Son comes as Tottenham looks to rebuild and bounce back from a disappointing campaign. The South Korean forward is clearly impressed with Postecoglou’s approach and believes that with the right support, the manager can lead the team to glory in the future.
