Ritchie, Dummett among five leaving Newcastle confirmed

Newcastle United have made the announcement that Matt Ritchie and Paul Dummett will be departing from the club. The two senior players are set to be out of contract at the end of the upcoming month. It has been revealed that both players would have been presented with new contract offers had the team secured European qualification.

Unfortunately for the Magpies, their hopes of participating in the Conference League were dashed following Manchester United’s triumph in the FA Cup. This outcome has resulted in Newcastle missing out on the opportunity to compete in the prestigious European competition.

In addition to Ritchie and Dummett, three other players will also be bidding farewell to St. James’ Park. Goalkeeper Loris Karius, defender Kell Watts, and midfielder Jeff Hendrick will be departing from the club as well.

The departure of these players marks a significant change for Newcastle United as they prepare for the upcoming season. The club will now need to focus on finding suitable replacements and strengthening their squad in order to achieve their goals.
