Carvajal confident for Madrid return

Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal is feeling confident as he gears up for his return from injury against Juventus in the Club World Cup. The defender has been out of action since October 2024 due to a knee injury sustained while playing against Villarreal.

Carvajal’s absence saw midfielder Federico Valverde fill in at right-back for much of last season under former coach Carlo Ancelotti. Now, after almost nine months on the sidelines, Carvajal is optimistic about rejoining the Real Madrid squad.

Speaking about his comeback, Carvajal expressed his excitement, stating, “I feel great and back in the group dynamics. I’m ready to give my all if called upon by the coach. Confidence is sky high, and I’m eager to contribute in any way I can.”

Despite the challenges of being sidelined, Carvajal remained positive throughout his recovery process. He emphasized his willingness to play in various positions to support the team and praised the versatility brought by new signings like Aurelien Tchouameni.

Real Madrid topped Group H in the Club World Cup, showcasing a promising start under manager Xabi Alonso. Their upcoming opponents, Juventus, suffered a heavy defeat against Manchester City in their last group match.

Madrid’s recent signing, Dean Huijsen, who previously played for Juventus, highlighted the Italian club’s defensive prowess and expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a victory. With players like Carvajal returning to the squad, Real Madrid aims to lift the trophy and continue their winning streak.
