New Chelsea recruit Jorrel Hato has been tipped for success at Stamford Bridge by former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
Hato recently sealed his £38.6m (€44.2m) move to the Blues and is set to play a key role under Enzo Maresca this season. This comes as Levi Colwill faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ACL injury.
Capable of playing at center-back and left-back, Hato featured prominently in the Eredivisie last season, making 31 appearances with two goals and six assists to his name.
Ten Hag, now in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, missed out on witnessing Hato’s breakthrough at Ajax but believes the youngster will adapt quickly to the demands of the Premier League.
“He has all the qualities to become a successful player,” Ten Hag remarked. “I am convinced he will thrive at Chelsea.”
Chelsea kick off their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace this Sunday at Selhurst Park. Stay tuned for more updates on Hato’s progress at Stamford Bridge.
