Kovac remains optimistic after Dortmund’s draw against Stuttgart

Borussia Dortmund faced a setback in the Bundesliga as they were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by Stuttgart. Niko Kovac, the Dortmund manager, acknowledged that there is work to be done but remains optimistic about the team’s position.

The match saw Deniz Undav score a dramatic hat-trick, including a last-minute equalizer that denied Dortmund the victory. Emre Can and Maximilian Beier had put Dortmund ahead, but Undav’s heroics ensured a share of the points.

Despite the disappointing result, Kovac highlighted some positive aspects of Dortmund’s performance. He emphasized the need to improve their game management and finish matches stronger.

Maximilian Beier expressed his frustration at conceding a late equalizer, describing the mood in the team as “rock bottom.” He acknowledged the need to tighten up defensively and prevent opponents from scoring easily.

Undav’s impressive display saw him make history by scoring two or more goals in consecutive Bundesliga matches for the first time in his career. The Stuttgart captain has now scored six goals against Dortmund in the league, establishing himself as a thorn in their side.

While Dortmund may have missed out on three points, Kovac remains confident in the team’s ability to bounce back and maintain their position at the top of the table. The draw may have been a setback, but Dortmund are far from being written off in the title race.
