Gyokeres may debut for Arsenal against Tottenham, says Arteta

Arsenal fans can expect to see new signing Viktor Gyokeres in action against Tottenham Hotspur in a friendly match in Hong Kong, according to manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners recently secured the services of Gyokeres for a hefty fee of £63.5m after lengthy negotiations with Sporting CP. The Swedish striker, who will wear the number 14 shirt previously worn by Thierry Henry, arrives as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.

Gyokeres netted an impressive 39 goals in just 33 Primeira Liga appearances as Sporting clinched the league title. His 27 non-penalty goals were the highest in Europe’s top leagues, surpassing the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski.

With Arsenal lacking a player in double figures for league goals last season, Gyokeres is seen as a key addition to bolster their attacking options. The North London derby could mark his debut for the club, with Arteta considering including him in the lineup.

Gunners captain Martin Odegaard has praised Gyokeres’ qualities, describing him as a complete striker with physicality, speed, and intelligence. Odegaard believes that Gyokeres will fit in well with the team and contribute positively to their attacking play.

Overall, Arsenal fans can look forward to seeing Gyokeres in action and hope that he can make a significant impact on the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
