Bayern Munich is standing firm on their decision not to sell Leon Goretzka in the middle of the season. According to journalist Christian Falk from Bild, the star midfielder is also keen on staying at the Allianz Arena.
Falk stated on CFBayernInsider: “It is NOT TRUE: Bayern want to sell Leon Goretzka in January. But, it is true that the Germany international wants to stay at the Allianz Arena. The 30-year-old sees a chance to stay at Bayern Munich – he’d love to stay at the club.
However, Goretzka is one of the top earners at around €17m-18m [£14.9m-15.8m] gross. Bayern will discuss a new contract with him and his agents next year to see if he’s willing to lower his earnings. If so, there’s a chance for Goretzka to stay.
Despite interest from other clubs like Juventus and Fenerbahçe, Goretzka’s focus remains on staying at Bayern. Galatasaray also had hopes of signing him, but it seems unlikely. The midfielder’s future will be clearer at the start of 2026 when Bayern makes their offer.
The club is currently looking at younger, more affordable players, which is why they are prioritizing talks with Goretzka. While a summer exit is possible, a winter move is not on the cards for Goretzka.
Overall, Bayern Munich is determined to keep hold of Goretzka for the foreseeable future, with negotiations for a new contract set to take place next year. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
