Arteta seeks Moyes’ support in title race

Mikel Arteta is hoping that his former manager, David Moyes, can do him a favor on Sunday as Arsenal face Everton in their final game of the season. Arteta was managed by Moyes during his time at Everton from 2005 to 2011, and now the stars have aligned for Arsenal to have a chance at winning the Premier League title if they defeat Everton. However, they also need a favor from Moyes’ West Ham, who will be taking on league leaders Manchester City. If City win, they will secure the title.

This game will also mark Moyes’ final match as West Ham’s boss, and Arteta is hoping for one more favor from his former mentor. “He’s been instrumental and so important in my career, as a footballer and a person. He could help us to fulfill our dream and my personal dream to win the Premier League,” Arteta said.

Arteta acknowledges that Arsenal must do their part and win their game against Everton, but they also need West Ham to help them achieve their dream. “That first part is on us, it’s the only thing we can focus on,” Arteta added.

On the other hand, Everton have little to play for except pride and securing 15th place in the league, as they have already ensured their safety. The club has made some contract decisions, offering new contracts to Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young, while activating a one-year extension for Idrissa Gueye. Dele Alli’s contract is up, but he will remain with Everton’s medical staff for rehab. Andre Gomes, Arnaut Danjuma, and Andy Lonergan will be leaving the club.

In terms of players to watch, Gabriel Jesus is the one to keep an eye on for Arsenal. He has scored the most Premier League goals on matchday 38 and has a good record against Everton. For Everton, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is their top scorer in away Premier League games this season.

In terms of predictions, Arsenal is favored to win the match. Everton has been winless in their last 10 Premier League away games, while Arsenal has a strong record at home against Everton. Arsenal’s 86 points so far this season is their third-highest in a single Premier League campaign, and they have the best win rate in final league matches. They have also lost just one of their last 27 Premier League home games against Everton.

According to Opta’s win probability, Arsenal has a 61.9% chance of winning, while Everton has a 14.5% chance, and a draw has a 23.6% chance.
