Bayern reportedly sign Olise from Palace for £45M

Bayern Munich have made a significant addition to their attacking options with the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, as confirmed by the Bundesliga side on Sunday.

The French winger has completed his move to Bayern after agreeing to a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until June 2029.

Crystal Palace have allowed Olise to leave after Bayern agreed to pay an initial fee of £45 million, with an additional £5 million in add-ons, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The deal also includes a sell-on clause.

Speaking to Bayern’s website, Olise expressed his excitement about joining the club: “The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club. It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”

Despite interest from Chelsea and Newcastle, the 22-year-old winger chose to move to Germany’s most successful team to work under new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany, according to BBC Sport’s Simon Stone.

During his three years at Crystal Palace, Olise made 90 appearances across all competitions. Last season, he had an impressive breakout campaign with 10 goals and six assists in 19 games.

Olise’s talents have also been recognized on the international stage, as he was selected by France to represent his country at this summer’s Olympics in Paris.

The departure of Olise is a blow for Crystal Palace, but it represents a significant coup for Bayern Munich as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
