Brentford Football Club has recently announced the departure of three players as their contracts come to an end. Shandon Baptiste, Saman Ghoddos, and Charlie Goode will be leaving the club.
Loan players Neal Maupay and Sergio Reguilon will also be returning to their parent clubs, Everton and Tottenham respectively.
Phil Giles, the Bees’ director of football, expressed his thoughts on the departures. Regarding Baptiste, Giles stated, “I’m sure Shandon would want to be more involved on the pitch than he has been, which is why we believe it’s the right time to let him become a regular and key player at another club.”
Ghoddos, who was brought back to Brentford last summer, has proven his worth. Giles mentioned the possibility of Ghoddos returning in the future, saying, “We shouldn’t rule out him coming back again sometime in the future.”
Goode, who has been on loan at Wigan Athletic this season, has faced unfortunate setbacks due to injuries and illness. Giles expressed sympathy for Goode’s situation.
In addition to the departing players, Giles also extended his gratitude to Maupay and Reguilon. He mentioned that Brentford has the option to bring Maupay back permanently but explained that they will postpone that decision for now, as they have already signed Igor Thiago from Club Brugge.
Giles described Reguilon as the perfect player at the perfect time for Brentford. The loan agreement has worked out well for both parties involved.
On behalf of everyone at Brentford, Giles expressed his appreciation for all the players leaving the club this summer and wished them success in their future endeavors.
