BVB chief considers retaining Maatsen and Sancho

Borussia Dortmund’s decision to bring in Jadon Sancho on loan has already proven to be a wise move, according to sporting director Sebastian Kehl. The English winger played a crucial role in helping BVB secure a spot in the Champions League final with a 2-0 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking ahead of the second leg, Kehl expressed his satisfaction with Sancho’s performance so far. “We will see,” he said cautiously. “They are on loan, both Sancho and Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, and eventually we will have to make some decisions. They are currently under contract with their respective clubs, but we will assess the situation when the time comes. I know that the players feel very welcomed in Dortmund, especially Jadon who feels right at home.”

Kehl further emphasized the positive impact of bringing in Sancho. “I believe it was a smart decision to acquire them,” he continued. “However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and focus on the present moment.”

As Dortmund prepares for their upcoming matches, the club’s faith in Sancho’s abilities has been justified. The young winger has seamlessly integrated into the team and has become an invaluable asset. With his impressive performances, Sancho has proven that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

The loan signings of Sancho and Maatsen have undoubtedly strengthened Dortmund’s squad. Their contributions have been instrumental in the team’s success thus far. As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how their loan spells unfold and whether Dortmund will consider making their moves permanent.

For now, however, the focus remains on the present. Dortmund’s journey in the Champions League continues, and they will need Sancho’s skills and determination to achieve their ultimate goal. The club and its fans can take comfort in knowing that they made a shrewd decision by bringing in the talented winger on loan.
