Cesare Casadei has expressed his contentment with his current situation at Chelsea. The midfielder spent the first half of last season on loan at Leicester City before being recalled by Chelsea in January. Despite limited playing time, Casadei made 11 Premier League appearances.
Speaking to chelseafc.com, the 21-year-old said, “I was really happy to be here in the second half of the season. Chelsea is my team and playing for them was always my dream. Going on loan is part of the journey, but my goal was always to come back here and play for Chelsea.”
When asked about his return to Chelsea, Casadei replied, “They asked me if I was happy to come back and I said ‘yes’ straight away because returning to Chelsea was my target. My goal was to train every day with the first team.”
Reflecting on his loan experiences, Casadei acknowledged the opportunity to learn from talented players at Chelsea. He stated, “Training with them every day helps me improve, even if I don’t get much game time. Playing my first game for Chelsea was a great moment, despite the result not being ideal. Making my Premier League debut against Liverpool was a valuable learning experience.”
Casadei also emphasized the personal growth he experienced during his loan spells. He admitted that adapting to a new country and language was challenging but ultimately helped him develop as both a player and an individual.
“In terms of football, I learned a lot because Reading and then Leicester were my first experiences in real football, playing with adults instead of young players. It helped me understand the tempo and intensity of the game,” Casadei explained.
The midfielder concluded by highlighting the importance of going on loan before joining a top-tier team like Chelsea. He stressed the significance of gaining experience and familiarity with the style of play and training methods.
Overall, Casadei’s return to Chelsea has brought him joy, and he is determined to make the most of his opportunities at the club.
