Cucurella recalls viral encounter with Trump: “I was scared to speak”

Marc Cucurella, fresh off his Club World Cup victory with Chelsea, sat down for an interview with Jijantes FC to discuss the chaotic trophy presentation where Donald Trump unexpectedly joined in on the celebrations.

“We were told Trump would present the trophy and we couldn’t lift it until he left,” Cucurella explained. However, the former US president decided to stick around and celebrate with the Chelsea players despite FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s attempts to get him off the stage.

“And of course, we were all waiting for him to leave, but he refused and even told us to lift the cup with him there,” Cucurella recounted.

The Spanish defender also defended his teammate Nico Williams, who chose to stay at Athletic Bilbao instead of moving to Barcelona. When asked if he would have made the same decision, Cucurella expressed uncertainty, stating, “I don’t know… And if they can’t register you, what do you do?”

In response to concerns about registration issues, Cucurella bluntly stated, “I don’t trust anyone nowadays.”

As for his future in the Kings League, only time will tell if we’ll see Marc Cucurella make a splash in the prestigious competition.
