Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has brushed off suggestions that Fulham’s players are already mentally on their summer holidays. Reports emerged this week of the Cottagers’ squad flying kites during training sessions, but Guardiola seemed unconvinced.
“Are you sure?” Guardiola questioned. “They play again in front of their fans and they will do everything to beat us, but about that [flying kites], I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Guardiola’s Manchester City side are set to face Fulham in an early kickoff tomorrow, and the Spanish manager had nothing but praise for his counterpart, Marco Silva. “Excellent,” Guardiola said of Silva. “Not only this season, he was promoted with Fulham playing excellent football last season really well. His defences are really good, and I admire him a lot. He had some problems at Everton, but at Fulham, his impact is there.”
