Brentford midfielder, Josh Dasilva, has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract this week. The deal is for one year, with the option for another year included.
Dasilva’s decision follows in the footsteps of his teammate, Ben Mee, who also recently agreed to a one-year contract extension.
Speaking about Dasilva’s new deal, Brentford’s director of football, Phil Giles, acknowledged the midfielder’s unfortunate run of injuries in recent seasons. However, Giles expressed confidence in Dasilva’s ability to bounce back and return to his best form.
Giles stated, “Josh has been so unlucky with injuries in recent seasons and hasn’t played anything like the number of matches he’d have wanted to. This makes him and us even more determined to get him back to full health – he has shown amazing mental strength and resilience to take this latest setback in his stride.”
Giles also highlighted Dasilva’s qualities as a player, describing him as a top-tier talent with unique attributes that are hard to come by. He expressed optimism that Dasilva will make a successful comeback and be back in action during the 2024/25 season.
The news of Dasilva’s contract extension is undoubtedly a boost for Brentford and their fans. The club will eagerly await his return to the pitch and the impact he can make on their Premier League campaign.
