Madueke on West Ham rout: Dominated in all phases

Chelsea attacker Noni Madueke expressed his delight following their impressive 5-0 victory over West Ham. Madueke himself played a crucial role in the rout, finding the back of the net.

Reflecting on the match, Madueke stated, “Credit has to be given to us, as we dominated in all phases. We were aware of West Ham’s strength on the counter and their physicality, so we made an effort to limit their impact.”

The young forward also highlighted the team’s recent progress, stating, “We have been confident, but now we’re starting to put everything together. We are working as a collective, being unselfish, and it’s showing in our performances. The last two games have been evidence of that, with two clean sheets and seven goals. It’s a credit to the entire club.”

Discussing his goal, Madueke admitted, “I don’t usually score headers. To be fair, it hit me, but you take those opportunities when they come your way. I’ve been struggling to find the far corner recently, including missing one against Tottenham. However, I’m hopeful that I’ll convert one of those chances soon.”

Looking ahead to their European ambitions, Madueke emphasized, “We will do our best to finish as high as possible and qualify for Europe. Playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world means being in Europe is a must. This season has been disappointing in that regard, but we are determined to secure it next season.”

In conclusion, Madueke expressed his optimism for the future, stating, “We know what we are capable of now, and next season we can give it our all. When you represent a club of this magnitude, being in Europe is non-negotiable. We have to go out there and earn it.”
