Manchester United owner warns Real Madrid against buying Mbappe

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the latest shareholder of Manchester United, has issued a warning to Real Madrid regarding their signing of Kylian Mbappe. In addition, he has revealed the Red Devils’ transfer strategy for the upcoming years. The INEOS boss, who is Britain’s second richest man, acknowledges that Manchester United’s future will not involve splurging on big-name stars, a mistake the Premier League side has made since 2013.

Ratcliffe dreams of resurrecting Sir Alex Ferguson’s former glory days at Manchester United by nurturing players like Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Wayne Rooney. By doing so, he aims to overthrow Manchester City and Liverpool’s dominance in British football, as they threaten to dismantle Ferguson’s legacy just a decade after his retirement.

However, Ratcliffe emphasizes that he won’t achieve this by buying success. Instead, he wants the club’s success to be achieved organically rather than artificially. He firmly states that he won’t be signing star players like Mbappe. In an interview with the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast, Ratcliffe expressed his preference for finding the next Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, or Roy Keane rather than spending a fortune on established stars.

Speaking of Bellingham, the English footballer for whom Real Madrid paid over 100 million, Ratcliffe elaborated on his policy. He ruled out a move for the LaLiga top scorer, as he believes Bellingham has a promising future ahead of him at just 20 years old.

Ratcliffe’s focus lies in assembling the right people in key positions within the club and ensuring effective recruitment. He believes that getting recruitment right is vital for running a successful football club and finding new talent.

In conclusion, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s vision for Manchester United involves building a team of promising young players rather than relying on expensive signings. He aims to restore the club’s former glory by focusing on effective recruitment and nurturing talent.
