Rowe’s late goal secures Euros title for England U21

England Under-21s have successfully defended their European Under-21 Championship title with a thrilling 3-2 extra-time victory over Germany Under-21s. Lee Carsley’s squad showed resilience after giving up a 2-0 lead, with substitute Jonathan Rowe making an immediate impact to secure the win just 85 seconds into extra time.

The Young Lions got off to a strong start, with Harvey Elliott scoring early on after pouncing on a rebound. James McAtee then set up Omari Hutchinson to double the lead. However, Germany fought back with Nelson Weiper and Paul Nebel scoring to level the game.

In extra time, Rowe’s quick goal proved to be the winner as England held off Germany’s late pressure. This victory marks England’s second consecutive European Under-21 Championship title, matching the achievement of the 1982 and 1984 squads.

Elliott’s impressive performance throughout the tournament was highlighted, while Rowe’s decisive goal showcased his impact off the bench. England’s overall team effort was commendable, with the squad showing character to secure the historic win.
