Schlotterbeck believes in Germany’s World Cup potential

Nico Schlotterbeck is optimistic about Germany’s chances at the World Cup after their impressive 6-0 victory over Slovakia. The win secured their spot in the 2026 tournament, with goals from Leroy Sane, Nick Woltemade, Serge Gnabry, Ridle Baku, and debutant Assan Ouedraogo.

Germany, now qualified for the 21st time, have high hopes for the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Schlotterbeck believes that if they continue to play at the level they did against Slovakia, they can achieve great things.

The team’s recent success includes five consecutive wins in World Cup qualifiers, their longest streak since 2021. They dominated the game against Slovakia with 22 shots, 10 on target, and 4.0 expected goals (xG). Germany also had 47 touches in the opposition box compared to Slovakia’s six and 96 final-third entries.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann praised the team’s performance, highlighting their defensive effort and quality goals. He commended the players for their hard work and dedication on the field.

With a strong squad and recent victories, Germany is looking forward to making a mark at the World Cup. Schlotterbeck and his teammates are determined to build on their success and aim for a successful campaign in the tournament.
