Bristol City dominates Sheffield Wednesday; QPR defeats Wrexham

Bristol City’s dominant first-half performance propelled them to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, moving them up to third in the Championship table. The action started early with a Harry Amass own goal in the sixth minute, followed by Emil Riis doubling the lead just 12 minutes later. Anis Mehmeti added a third goal for Bristol in the 32nd minute, sealing the win.

Championship newcomers Wrexham suffered a 3-1 defeat to QPR, who secured back-to-back wins. Conor Coady’s own goal and Richard Kone’s strike gave QPR the advantage, with Kieffer Moore pulling one back for Wrexham before Rumarn Burrell restored QPR’s two-goal lead.

Stoke City claimed a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City, moving them into second place in the table. Bosun Lawal’s header secured all three points for Stoke in a match where Birmingham failed to register a shot on target.

Hull City salvaged a late draw against Swansea City, with John Egan’s 97th-minute goal ensuring the points were shared. Derby County also secured their first win of the season with Andreas Weimann’s header downing West Brom 1-0.

Bristol City has found success in Sheffield this season, scoring more goals in the city than both Wednesday and United combined. Despite having fewer expected goals than Wednesday, Bristol’s clinical finishing made the difference in their victory. Wednesday continues to struggle, with only one point on the board and no goals scored at Hillsborough this season.
