Chelsea confident in challenging Arsenal for Sesko

In the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, Arsenal may have taken the lead, but Chelsea are not giving up just yet. According to the Evening Standard, the Blues are convinced that they still have a chance to secure the services of the Slovenia international.

Sesko’s contract with the Bundesliga side reportedly includes a release clause of €65 million, making a move to the Premier League a realistic possibility in the upcoming summer transfer window. While Arsenal hopes to negotiate a lower price, Chelsea could be willing to trigger the clause and jump ahead in the queue.

Although Chelsea has been keeping an eye on Napoli star Victor Osimhen, the hefty price tag of over £100 million to acquire the Nigerian striker is currently considered too steep for Stamford Bridge. Another player of interest for the Blues is Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, but it seems unlikely that they will make a move for the 19-year-old at this stage.
