In what could be a tense encounter on Saturday night, Guarani will host Operario at the Estadio Brinco de Ouro.
Starting with the hosts, Guarani’s hopes of a strong promotion charge in the 2024 campaign have been dashed by a series of problems. Their recent performance against Mirassol, where they suffered a 3-0 defeat, was another cause for concern. Currently sitting at the bottom of the table, Umberto Louzer’s men are desperate for a boost. Although they managed a 2-0 victory against Botofago SP on May 11th, it remains their only win in the Serie B so far. Their goal-scoring record is also poor, with just one goal in their last four matches.
As for the visitors, Operario bounced back from a recent setback with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Amazonas. Despite being newcomers to Serie B this season, Rafael Guanaes’ side have only lost two of their first eight matches and have gained a reputation for their tough playing style. With consecutive victories against Avai and Ituano at the start of the season, Operario will be looking to make another statement in this game. They have also been solid defensively, keeping a clean sheet in three of their last four matches.
